Give-a-Hoot Auction for Oakhurst Elementary

March 6 @ 6:30 pm9:30 pm

Attend the auction to bid on our package:

BBuckets are designed to control mosquitoes at their source, using Bti (Bacillus thuringensis israelensis), a naturally-occurring bacterium found in soil and known to eliminate mosquito larvae so they do not become biting adults. With a bucket system (enough buckets in optimal locations), you can significantly reduce the mosquito population in your yard. Clients have told me that they could enjoy time outside at the height of summer without applying mosquito repellents! And using buckets rather than sprays, which can harm pollinators and all beneficial insects, helps support Decatur’s affiliations and commitments as both a Bee City USA (2016, first in Georgia) and a Bird City (2025, first in Georgia) and increase biodiversity, good for all of us. Join our initiative to B the Change & B Good to Pollinators.

Bucket systems work best when installed early (by mid-March), perfect timing for the winner of this package.

This package includes a Bee-autiful Bucket, custom decorated for Oakhurst Owls, and three B-asic Buckets, a good start for any Decatur yard as well as a 30-minute in-person consultation with Katherine (former Oakhurst parent/auction co-organizer and collaborator with Principal Triplett on the bucket-and-goat pilot project at Oakhurst Elementary, 2023) about how and where to install the buckets for best results, and our favorite, organic and kid-friendly Badger Anti-Bug Balm.

Total value: $150
